Non Friable Asbestos Removal

Non-Friable Asbestos (also referred to as “boned”)

Non-friable asbestos materials are typically securely attached to a solid substrate, such as cement of vinyl. These materials are commonly found in products like vinyl floor tiles and cement sheets. When non-friable asbestos containing materials remain undamaged and well contained, they are generally considered to pose minimal risk, as they do not release asbestos fibres into the surrounding air.

Our team’s expertise ensures a secure and thorough removal process, safeguarding your well-being and the environment.

Friable VS Non Friable Asbestos

Friable asbestos is easily crumbled or reduced to powder when touched, posing a higher risk of airborne asbestos fibers. Non-friable asbestos, on the other hand, is in a more solid, stable form and typically doesn't release fibers unless significantly disturbed, presenting a lower risk when properly managed.

Friable Asbestos

Easily crumbles into fine, airborne fibers when disturbed, posing a high health risk. This is Asbestoce in its extremely dangerous form.

Non Friable Asbestos

In a solid, stable form, less likely to release harmful fibers unless significantly damaged or deteriorated. Care & Caution should still be taken around this material

As advised by NSW Government.

If asbestos containing material is in good condition it poses little health risk. However, when asbestos containing products are disturbed by cutting, drilling, water blasting or similar activities, small fibres may be released into the air.

These fibres are harmful if inhaled and may lead to asbestos related diseases such as asbestosis, lung cancer or mesothelioma.
